Stapelbroek for Bücherei Folkwang Essen

For the library of the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, we have created an inspiring 1,400 m² learning and working environment that reflects the creative spirit of the university both architecturally and functionally. The brief: to realise a spatial concept that promotes calm and concentration, while at the same time offering openness for artistic exchange. With custom-made furniture, clear lines and a finely tuned material and colour concept, a place has been created that offers structure and inspiration to students and teachers alike – a modern knowledge centre in the heart of a traditional art college.
