Stapelbroek for Douglas
We had the privilege of realising a very special project for the new Douglas store in the historic Krügerhaus in Dortmund – where luxury meets history. In just 11 weeks of closure, the entire sales area was completely gutted and rebuilt.
The task: to create a modern, luxurious store concept that blends harmoniously with the listed architecture of the traditional Krügerhaus. We took on the complete interior construction work across a total of 622 m² and three floors – from the basement to the 322 m² sales area on the ground floor to the offices, kitchens and staff rooms on the upper floor.
Our services included dismantling, drywall construction, painting, electrical, flooring and plumbing work, as well as the production and installation of new furniture and fittings. Despite additional, extensive fire protection measures due to the existing building fabric, we were able to complete the project on schedule and to the customer’s complete satisfaction.
The result: an elegant Douglas store with sustainable, smart building technology – including intelligent climate and ventilation control, smart metering and energy-efficient LED lighting – in one of Dortmund’s most impressive historic buildings. A successful combination of tradition, innovation and modern aesthetics.
